Amazing Aerial Sculptures

Before going to bed, was surfing the net one night and stumbled upon these amazing aerial sculpture by Janet Echelman. It's such a beauty, and it almost looks like the northern lights. One of the materials being used in her sculptures apparently are fish nets! Interesting...

I find this sculpture really creative and one of a kind for that matter, specially since its aerial. I mean not so many artist dare suspend their art up in the air just like that.

To see more of her works, you can visit her official site at www.echelman.com. Enjoy!

Hurray for Vray ;)

Me and my friends at work are really enjoying the Vray plug-in for Sketchup (it's eating up our time hehe). Right now, I'm still trying to experiment on the lighting and adding Photoshop images without some background. It renders quite slow in my computer though, but the result is at par with those done in Max so its worth the wait.

Experiment on reflection and lighting..

Some work stuff...

Inspiring Artist

Found this really talented 4 year old, who's painting in action. The beauty is not so much of the artwork she's done ('cause honestly I don't like abstract hehe) but for me it's how the girl Aelita does it. She looks very inspired and innocent, and seems to know what she's doing that makes all her artworks priceless.

Visual Display Resources ;)

As a visual artist, it's basically my job to conceptualize seasonal decors and at times, just plain old store visual merchandising. Whenever there's an event coming and I need to present design proposals, I always check out www.vmsd.com.  It has lots of window display designs and props useful for all occasions. Architects and interior designers will really find this site helpful since it also has fixtures, graphics & signages etc.

Another really useful site for visual design is http://www.btmteam.net. It's actually an advertising agency that does virtual tour programs, graphic designs and etc. for companies in their events or promotions.

The great thing about this site is that it provides samples of visual merchandising in 360 degree views which allows you to really navigate the store like Macy's, and know where the campaigns are laid out or how the products are displayed.
